Singapore: Waters Corporation has implemented new design improvements to its Alliance high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system. The updated system will maintain key Alliance performance specifications and control algorithms to ensure that analysts can seamlessly replicate their existing methods.

Mr Ian King, VP, separation science, Waters, said that, "The Alliance HPLC system has been the benchmark for HPLC in the laboratory for nearly two decades. Since its introduction, the Alliance HPLC System has been continually enhanced accommodating an enormous range of separation challenges. Waters will continue its commitment to upgrading the Alliance HPLC System with the assurance that any changes will not affect established, validated HPLC methods."

Alliance HPLC has the ability to seamlessly integrate with customers' existing Empower software network for instrument control and data processing. Waters' flagship chromatography data software, Empower 3, makes it easier than ever to run samples and produce meaningful results without extensive training, re-engineering workflow, or adding new software to support instruments or advanced chromatographic techniques.

The Alliance HPLC system offers several features, including integrated solvent and sample management (that ensures consistent system-to-system performance and high reproducibility); Automated Solvent Compressibility (so that users do not have to select from calibration or look-up tables and risk accidental errors in selection).

It also has features full integration with either Empower or MassLynx Software for instrument control and data processing; large, intuitive LCD-based user interface for rapid system set-up and daily start-ups; and an easy, tool-free maintenance resulting in maximized uptime.

The Agilent 1200 Series HPLC System’s modular and compact design allows users to configure to their needs while taking up a minimal amount of bench space. This HPLC system features a powerful combination of speed, resolution, and sensitivity with a high throughput and improved quality of results. The 1200 series HPLC system uses a plug and play modular system, so modules automatically hand shake with each other, or can be used separately depending on your needs. The Agilent 1200 Series HPLC instrument uses a dual lamp design and temperature control through diode array detectors to bring you outstanding sensitivity. This is also partnered with a high pressure binary pump for flexible solvent delivery, and a degasser for stable flow rate. The thermostat auto sampler of this high-performance liquid chromatography machine has a temperature range of between 4-40°C, as well as a high-performance auto sampler with an injection range of between 0.1-100 µl.
